Are you seeing large bees flying around the exterior areas of your home? They could be Carpenter Bees. Check wood soffits and fascia to see if you find any holes about ½” in diameter. Carpenter Bees “drill” these holes and create tunnels in which they lay their eggs. Sprays may kill the adults but will not affect the eggs.
Never plug the holes until fall and only they’ve been professionally treated. Eliminating the exit causes the young bees to create other pathways which could lead them into your home and make the problem worse.
