Rochester Exterminating
- Interesting & Current Pest Information
We are currently receiving calls for carpenter ants, paper wasps, honey bees, carpenter bees box elder bugs, ladybug beetles, numerous types of small flying insects and mice. Many insects and rodents emerge from their winter harborages in or near your home during the spring season each year to either establish new populations or increase the size of existing ones. Nest building is at its peak during this time of the year.
This is the time of year to rake up and remove leaf litter and other yard debris from the outside perimeter of your home to eliminate early season hiding places for pests. Checking gutters and downspouts for clogs and leaks as well as making sure that water drains away from your foundations is another important step towards pest prevention. Clean up spilled birdseed and pet wastes to remove attractants for many types of insects and rodents.
This is also the time to begin preventive pest services such as Home Protection Plus or Rodent Guard if you have a potential for pest activity in or around your home. Taking steps now to prevent pest activity will help avoid bigger problems later in the year.
