Rochester Exterminating

Rochester, NY -- Rochester Exterminating, locally-owned pest management company, announced that the management team from the firm attended Pest World 2009, the 76th annual convention of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) held in Las Vegas, NV in October. Pest World is the largest international gathering of pest management professionals, and Rochester Exterminating executives joined over 3,000 attendees from around the world at this year's event.

 

Company president, Garry Tank; chief financial officer, Joanne Tank; general manager, John Zimmerman; sales manager, Ian McCabe; human resources manager, Christine Zimmerman; and information technology manager, Scott Hall participated in three days of educational sessions at the convention. Topics ranged from the newest developments in the control of pests to improving hiring techniques and measuring customer service. 

 

"Rochester Exterminating has long supported both national and state pest management associations as part of our commitment to keep pace with the latest developments in our industry," explained Garry Tank. "This year at Pest World, we had the participation of more company executives as we seek to continually enhance every area of service to our customers, both residential and commercial."

 

During the convention, Joanne Tank was recognized for her work as a member of the NPMA Business Development Committee, which was named as Committee of the Year for 2009. Ms. Tank was involved with the committee's work including several webinars for members on social media networking, as well as an extensive survey on financial operating ratios of pest control companies to help identify how companies are adapting to the current economic environment.

 

Pest World's theme of "connect, learn, innovate and grow" encouraged convention attendees not to follow the Las Vegas tourism slogan of "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas", but to rather return to their companies and communities and share everything they saw and learned. Guest speakers at the convention included James Ma, a member of the MIT Group whose story was made into the movie "21", and Bob Pritchard, a recipient of the International Marketer of the Year Award.
