Rochester Exterminating technicians attend pest conference at Purdue

Buffalo Exterminating, an Orchard Park locally-owned pest management company, had company technicians attend the 73rd Purdue Pest Management Conference in January, a four-day event held on Purdue University campus in West Lafayette, Ind.

Buffalo Exterminating technical trainer Marc Potzler and service supervisor Mark Pickhardt attended the conference which attracted nearly 1,000 people from around the world.

Started in 1936, the Purdue Pest Management Conference features speakers and industry leaders giving training seminars, research and regulatory updates, product development, marketing and management hints, and additional information vital to promoting innovative and environmentally sensitive approaches to pest management.

Zimmerman noted that Buffalo Exterminating will host several educational seminars on behalf of the New York State Pest Management Association in 2009.

The Seminars will bring together pest management professionals from Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania and provide recertification training credits required by the State Department of Environmental Conservation. About 50 to 75 pest management professionals typically attend the seminars.
